Where Heart Meets Brushstroke
Art has always quietly lived in the background of my life, until one evening in January 2017, when I followed a Bob Ross tutorial and everything changed. What began as a fun experiment quickly became a passion that replaced every other hobby I had.
Since then, painting has become a daily part of who I am. I'm endlessly fascinated by the way light transforms a subject, how it blends with shadow and shifts color in the most beautiful, fleeting ways. Capturing that is what keeps me coming back to the canvas.
My Work
I paint in both oils and acrylics, depending on what the subject calls for. I love the soft blendability of oils and the vibrant immediacy of acrylics, and most of my work ends up living in the latter.
Nature is my main muse. So far, I’ve explored fruit, foliage, animals, and landscapes, always chasing a sense of realism that feels present, grounded, and full of feeling.
Over the years, I’ve been honored to show my work in solo and group exhibitions, including A Dance of Light (2019) at the Centre for Creative Arts in Grande Prairie and several shows with the Peace River Chapter of the Canadian Federation of Artists, where I’ve had pieces juried in and even awarded.
Teaching & Sharing
While painting started as a personal journey, I’ve found deep joy in sharing it with others. Whether it’s through art shows, collaborative exhibits, or leading a class, I love connecting with people who are curious, creative, or just beginning to explore.
My classes are welcoming, down-to-earth, and focused on discovery. You don’t need experience to join, just a willingness to try something new and enjoy the process.
